Meet the Raw Stadia team - Mattias

Updated: Sep 13, 2022

In ‘meet the team’ you will get to know all Raw Stadia team members. Next-up: Sales Manager Mattias. Let's quick-fire some questions.

Tell us something about yourself?

My nickname is ‘Bockie’, which refers to my last name. When I was about 9 years old, I was playing for the youth team of Sporting Hasselt and we were with 3 kids named Mattias in the same squad. The coach used to call us by the diminutive of our surname to avoid confusion. To this day, the same nicknames are used by those around us and I am still very close friends with one of the namesakes.

Furthermore, I like sports and I like partying. One thing compensates for the other, I guess. 😉

What do you do at Raw Stadia?

I am the Sales Manager of Raw Stadia, so when people are reaching out to us, they most likely will get in contact with me. That works both ways, as I will be the one contacting interesting profiles. I love looking for opportunities within the market and once I have found those, I will do my utmost best to create a solution tailored to the needs of my counterpart.

Why Raw Stadia?

I started as an intern at Raw Stadia after I heard from the company through one of my football teammates, who was an intern back then himself. As I am very passionate about football, the company DNA instantly caught my attention. Once I learned more about the product, my interest only grew. I very much believe we are offering a product with great value, which will become a standard in the future. After 5 months as an intern, I got the chance to join the team and I have been very happy to be a part of it ever since.

What is your first impression at Raw Stadia?

We have a very young-minded team with lots of ambition and eagerness to get things done. Besides, we like to take some pressure off by having a drink together and talking about things that have nothing to do with work. The work hard, play hard mentality definitely lives here.

What is the number one item on your bucket list?

I would love to travel and see more of what this world has to offer, to experience different cultures. Some of the countries I would like to visit in the coming years are Mexico, Indonesia and New Zealand.

Give us some good conversations starters.

Friends: Joey Tribbiani, Season 4, Episode 13, 13:45 (If you know, you know).

Something to talk about during a coffee break.

It may come as no surprise, but talking sports always works for me. If you bring up football as a topic, we might have lots of coffee during our break. No worries though, I am happy to switch to beers during our conversation 😉.

I am also very interested in new innovations and technologies! I like to learn about things I don’t know a lot about.

Are you a sports fan? Certain team?

I mainly play football and padel and those are the two sports I watch the most. Although I try to be as neutral as possible at work, I must admit that I am a big fan of FC Barcelona. Ronaldinho and Messi really made me fall in love with the club, the tiki-taka football they play is a joy to watch and the things they have achieved in the last 15 years are amazing.

I love everything about the club and its DNA, even though that might be a controversial statement these days.
